Beach TowelsAfter a recent failed attempt to find good quality hooded towels for my two water babies, I was delighted to come across this super cute version. Olive Owl not only features adorable ears but also feathers and a tail! I can just imagine grandparents queueing up for cuddles after bath time at their house when I take this with us.

The deliciously soft cotton will keep your little one warm and snug whilst they dry off, and they will be the envy of the pool should you use it after a swim session. As if all that wasn't enough, unlike many hooded towels on the market this one is large enough to accommodate toddlers - hooray for Olive!

Unisex Gift BoxesWhen I had my children a baby shower was only ever heard of in other countries, like the USA. However, this has become a very popular event in the UK over the past few years, so what exactly happens at a baby shower? Firstly, this is normally arranged by a close female friend, as if it were a family member it can be considered rude for you to ask for gifts! This is a women only event, and if invited to one, you would be expected to bring a gift for the baby, although this is typically held before the birth, so a unisex gift makes life easier, these boxes fairy cake, lemon socks are a great idea.

Once gift giving has been done, you will settle down to a nice tea, and share your wisdom of parenthood with the poor expectant mother. Then you play some games relating to babies, a common one is, guess the baby food, where you are blindfolded and given spoonfuls of various baby foods and ask to guess the flavours. Or there is the popular guess the size of the mum's tum, where you will all take guesses at the size of her tummy, and then utterly humiliate her by measuring it.

Sadly, my days of these are over, so I will never get to experience this new fad, yet I will look forward to getting an invite to one!

rain rain go awayHow wet has it been here in the UK, the past 4 weeks I can not remember one dry day. My poor girls and boy has been stuck in the house for a whole month, we just had two lots of decking done, one for us and family/friends to sit and watch the children play and for BBQ s (fat chance) and one for a wooden playhouse for the girls that I am planning to put up, but I can not see them getting much use out of it for some time yet.

If it carries on like this I am thinking about building an ark just in case :) and to top things off we still have a hose ban, but the amount of rain we have had I can not see me watering the garden for the next two years anyway...

Posh Wendy HousesI was browsing the net and came across this image of a childs wendy house, not just one wendy house but a whole street of them, how posh is that! The whole street of playhouses came to $100,000 that's £65,000. But that most likely does not include the decorator that needs to re-stain them each year, then you have the pot holes to deal with and street lighting bill......

Think we will stick with our win green play house, its not as expensive, we can have it outdoors and when its raining (when is it not) it fits nicely into the girls bedroom.

But if you can afford it and would like one you can find them at Lilliput Play Homes website.
